I see faces In the craters On the surface of the moon I dream of houses That are crowded With people i never knew Who are you? Who are you? I hear voices I avoid them Paranoia is too much I swim through thunder Shat sounds like my mother When she would mutter bad words Where are the birds? Where are the birds? I find colour In other people, I’m sorry but the reason is fair Are you there?
2.
It's a nice night For jellyfish rain And when I wake up in the morning There's been a robbery I've done a little too much cocaine Jellyfish rain It's nice to meet ya Would you say the same? And when the world is your ashtray It's hard to complain Is there anybody driving this goddamn train? Jellyfish rain You gotta drink away the pain Jellyfish rain All that is and all that could be Takes me into a daydream Watch the wind, forget how to breathe All that is will always be Oh, jellyfish rain, yeah Oh, jellyfish rain, yeah It's nice enough anyway Jellyfish rain
3.
She calls out to me Speaks in tongues so quietly I'm in love with her solar beams Oh please stare down on me She leaves me red cheeks I bathe in her eternally Is there nirvana I've reached? Please leave my mind You burn and I'm so tired I weep under her name Mother hold me down Stop me from turning to flame I know that I am found

Vodka, Neat 05:00
You can't ask for tequila in a whiskey bar Just wait for the dealer to deal the cards You're standing too far Away from the bar They struggle to hear You give them a laugh They roll their eyes I think you forget what you're like Darling I wish you were sweet But you have crooked teeth And you know everything Darling What did you mean? When you said vodka clean? I think it's supposed to be neat You're the tequila that I drank too fast Darling I wish you were sweet But you have crooked teeth And you know everything Darling What did you mean? When you said vodka clean? I think it's supposed to be neat

about

Mums Favourite 4-track EP 'Where Are The Birds?' is a thrilling debut compilation of original psychedelic-blues-indie-rock songs. Inspired by the likes of Led Zeppelin, Jeff Buckley, Pink Floyd and Arctic Monkeys, the five-piece is an enigmatic, genre-defying group who are ready to teleport you to the 1970s and surprise you with modernistic twists and turns at every corner.

Each song on this EP is a force to be reckoned with - brimming with fierce, raw and passionate vocal deliveries from lead singer, Sash, who is backed by melodic, rock-solid, stadium sized instrumentals from the band. Sash's poetic lyricisms supported by intricate, wailing guitars, melodic bass lines and dynamic drums with an attitude will encourage you to embrace the freak flow and transcend.

'Where Are The Birds?' is a haunting melody about not recognising the world around you. This song gives you a larger than life feeling, inviting you to fly away and find the birds - wherever they may be.

Jellyfish Rain introduces the bluesy side of Mums Favourite with a unique style. The juxtaposing parts of the song take you into different realms of reality.

Mother Of Ra (or as the band call it 'Sun Song') is a colossal-sized love letter for the sun. This song is the transcendental peak of Mums Favourite songs and the guttural ending will leave you wanting more.

Vodka,Neat is the closing song on the EP, an ode to losing feelings. This mammoth 5-minute song gears you up from the opening drum fill to the final, almost painful, strum of the last chord.

about

Mums Favourite Adelaide, Australia

Our sound is deeply cultured and bluesy, but we play it off with a tease of retro vibes and youthful attraction that keeps the crowd mesmerised. Selling out shows with well written songs, relatable lyrics, honey dripping vocals, heart thumping bass, rhythms that swirl and change, we speak of uniqueness and originality through our infectious melodies and deep connection with the crowd. ... more
